GEORGE TOWN: It was business as usual at the island's popular Line Clear nasi kandar outlet.
The Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) had planned to take enforcement action against the operator of the outlet at 7am Saturday.
Although the outlet operator Abdul Hamid Seeni Pakir, 60, was said to have obtained a stay of execution against further action against the council, the operator was concerned that the council would still continue with their enforcement.
The operator has no court documents to prove the new development.
It was reported by an online news portal that counsel Md Yusuf Idris had said Penang High Court justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah granted the stay of execution in chambers On Friday.
The counsel filled an application on Monday against the MPPP over its decision to take action against the operator.
Md Yusuf had said that the application was granted in chambers at about 4pm Friday.
He added that they could not obtain a sealed copy of the order, as the court’s counter was already closed.
Md Yusuf had told that they would get the documents on Monday Feb 2.
The restaurant is currently facing a licensing issue due to a family feud.
